Epopee to the Forgotten
by Ivan vazov
This year(2000) we celebrate 150 years from the birth of Ivan Vazov!
"Epopee to the Forgotten", one of Vazov's masterpieces, is a cycle of
poems dedicated to some of the greatest Bulgarian patriots. The poems
were written and published in the period 1881-1884. You may notice
that the poems and the persons they are dedicated to are exactly 12 in
number (two of the poems are about historical events) which is
generally cosidered as an allusion to the 12 disciples.
