Ars alliance was defeated in the war and each of the remained races accepted from the Hierarchy one of the options: to fight for the Hierarchy as slaves or to be isolated from the rest of the world by the slavery shield. After the interplanetary referendum was held, the earthmen choose the second alternative. The main character is the descendant of the member of government project “Star control”, the aim of which is to find and examine artifacts which remained from the race of forerunners.

Scientific expedition which was sent to Vela system found a giant factory of forerunners which produced ships. When the shuttle did not appear, because of the alliance defeat in the war against Hierarchy, people decided to colonize the planet. As soon as they made the framework of the ship of forerunners and equipped it with minimum necessary things which are needed to survive, they sent it to the Earth in order to find out what has happened.
