This time around the Prince ends up adveturing with Elika, a princess of a local tribe that has protected a tree of life for generations. During the introductory bits of the game Prince and Elika end up at the Temple that holds the tree of life, only to see Elika's father destroying the tree and freeing Ahriman, an evil god that was trapped under the tree. Prince and Elika escape the Temple, but it's too late - the lands of Elika's tribe are all corrupted by Ahriman. It's up to the Prince to lead Elika to visit all the fertile grounds around the lands to heal the corruption and ultimately restore the tree of life.
