which are identical to the trade in which they have passed e.g. (a) Fitter, Turner, Machinist, etc.
will be considered for Mechanical Engineering, (b) Electrician, Wireman, etc. will be considered
for Electrical Engineering, (c) Draughtsman (Civil) , Surveyor, etc. will be considered for Civil
Engineering and like others. Said 10% seats will be subject to usual reservation of seats for SC,
ST and female candidates. If sufficient candidates are not available those may be filled-up by the
general candidates.

ii) Out of the balance seats, 50% will be filled up b y the male candidates and remaining 50% will be
earmarked for the female candidates subject to avai lability of female candidates. If any reserved
seat meant for female candidate remain unfilled in any polytechnic of any district that seat will be
filled up b y male candidate of that district.

iii) 10% of the total seats earmarked against Poly-40 in the polytechnics located in the districts of
Burdwan, Purulia, Bankura, Purba Medinipur and Pasc him Medinipur are reserved for the
candidates coming from land-loser families of the r espective districts.

Prescribed application forms will be available on a nd from 03.05.2010 to 24.05.2010 from 11.00 a.m. to
2.00 p.m. on payment of Rs.150/- (Rupees one hundre d fifty) only in cash from the polytechnics, listed
below. Upper age limit of the applicants is 21 year s as on 1st
January 2010, relaxable by 3 (three) years
for SC & ST candidates. Upper age limit for the can didates other than SC/ST is relaxable by 1 (one) year,
if the merit positions are in the zone of considera tion.

Last date of submission of completed application is 24.05.2010 upto 4.00 p.m. However, in case of
candidates who have appeared in Madhyamik or equiva lent examination conducted b y Boards which
have Examination Centres in West Bengal in 2010 and if the result of the said examination is not
published within 23.05.2010, the last date for subm ission of completed application is within 10 (ten) days
from the date of publication of the result of Madhy amik or equivalent examination but they have to
collect the application form within the same period i.e. 03.05.2010 to 24.05.2010.
