Description:
Ver 0.3.91, for J2ME
OpenWIG description
OpenWIG is an attempt to develop a J2ME mobile application (midlet) with the same capabilities as Wherigo player.
OpenWIG is an attempt to develop a J2ME mobile application (midlet) with the same capabilities as Wherigo player. It achieves this by implementing Lua extensions used in Wherigo source files.
A list cartridges successfully tested with the openWIG player can be found here.
Here are some key features of "OpenWIG":
· recognizing Zones, Items, Characters, Commands, Tasks, Inputs and Timers
· precise recognition of Zone shape, executing all distance-related events, "slow hysteresis", OnZoneState
· presence in multiple zones at once
· moving Items and Characters between Zones, themselves and player's repository
· OnStart event for cartridge
· executing Commands with and without parameters
· displaying MessageBoxes (with custom buttons, media and callbacks), Dialogs and Inputs
· dynamic zone generation for official PlayAnywhere cartridges
· manual input of player's position
· Bluetooth, Serial and TCP socket GPS connectivity, support for internal GPS
· precise arrow navigation to Zones and Things
· reading GWC files stored in the phone's filesystem, with integrated file browser
· lightweight preferences screen
· playing sounds in wav, mp3 and possibly other formats (depends on phone)
· extensive logging
Requirements:
· MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.1
What's New in This Release:
· new zone detection algorithm that should be faster and is easier to prove correct
· some fixes in the lua stdlib
· more logging
· bugfixes to new threadless mechanisms
· Timer now supports switching its type at run-time, and also calls OnStart after each tick (i assume this is because there is no interval timer in official players, they just restart the timer every time they need)
· OnClick support for items and characters
